Physical Features


The topography of Malita could be characterized as generally rugged territory. About 80 percent of the total land area of Malita is rolling and mountainous with ranges along the west running almost uninterrupted to the south. The level lands, considered to be among the most fertile in the country, are the coastal plains that gently slope towards the numerous hills and mountains of the inland barangays.


Malita has a land area of 120,115 hectares. Among its barangays the largest is Little Baguio with an area of 12,498 hectares or 10.57% of the total land area of the municipality. The smallest barangay is Poblacion covering an area of 330 hectares or 0.11% of Malita’s land area.
